Three Rivers Nurses Rally for a Fair Contract!

Nurses at Three Rivers Health-Beacon Health System held a rally and informational picket recently to highlight their campaign for a fair contract that invests in nurses and enables them to provide safe, quality care.

Since their contract expired on March 31, sticking points in negotiations have included the hospital’s excessive forced overtime and efforts to cut related compensation. Nurses are routinely forced to stay past their shifts and often called in on their days off.

“Nurses just keep giving everything we have, and all the hospital does is demand more and more,” said Brandy Shoup, an emergency department nurse and president of the local union. “Beacon Health has come in and shown that it would rather take advantage of its nurses than invest in what our community needs. We need to be able to recruit and keep nurses – not keep driving them away by exhausting us and disrupting our lives with 16-hour days and cancelled PTO.”

Thank you for Supporting the MNA PAC!

Thank you very much to the many MNA members who donated to the Michigan Nurses Association PAC as part of our 2022 Spring Fundraising Drive. Because of your generous contributions, we are making an impact during this year’s election and beyond. Click here to see how we are advocating for you.

Unsafe staffing and workplace violence are hurting all of us! That is why we must elect lawmakers who share our values and priorities. MNA PAC only endorses candidates who are committed to fighting for the needs of nurses, health care workers, and our patients! Thanks to your donations, we can provide them with the resources necessary to stand up to the powerful and well-funded hospital industry.

Save the date! The MNA 2022 House of Delegates will be held October 6-8 near Traverse City. Stay tuned for more details!
