Organize. Fight. Win.

From Metro Detroit to the Upper Peninsula, MNA nurses are organizing together to recruit and retain nurses and healthcare professionals.

When one nurse moved from California to the U.P. to help her mom’s hospital, corporate executives tried to deny her the bonus she deserved. MNA RNs fought back as a group. By coming together, distributing flyers, and staying strong, they got management to back down and pay what was owed.

Meanwhile, in Metro Detroit, an MNA member was denied an attendance bonus. Again, nurses came together as a union. A grievance was filed and the nurse was paid in full.

When we fight, we win. We have power as a union when we are united together.

Have you seen Brenna’s video?

While MNA nurses are fighting for safe staffing in our workplaces, we are also fighting for a safe staffing law to protect all patients in every Michigan hospital.

MNA’s bipartisan state Safe Patient Care Act calls for safe nurse-to-patient ratios, limits on mandatory overtime, and hospital staffing transparency. MNA member Brenna Tresidder, RN shared her story in a powerful video airing across the state. Momentum is building to put patients before profits.

Support elected officials who support us

The Michigan Nurses Association Political Action Committee (MNA PAC) is a voluntary nonpartisan fund supporting elected officials and candidates who fight for our legislative priorities, including:

  •  Safe staffing ratios (the Safe Patient Care Act)
  • Reducing workplace violence
  • Support for collective bargaining

Elected leaders make the laws that affect our daily lives. Nurses and health professionals deserve a seat at the table so we can protect our practice, our profession and our patients.

The MNA PAC does not use union dues. All money in the PAC fund – every single dollar – comes from voluntary donations that are allocated carefully by fellow MNA members. You can easily and securely donate online.  Together, we can put leaders in power who will advocate for nurses and health professionals.

MNA’s Awards Banquet is coming up! Nominate a deserving colleague today

Every year, at the annual House of Delegates, our union takes a moment to celebrate and honor nurses and healthcare professional’s contributions to our professions, our union, and our broader community.

Documenting the year we have had

As we approach House of Delegates, we are inviting you to share your photos (of yourself or of others provided you have permission) that show what the past year has been like. Sometimes, a picture is worth 1,000 words.
